About ATCP

We are people from Turkey and Armenia whose common ground is cinema. We love cinema. Not only do we love cinema, we also believe in the power of cinema to heal, reconcile and make peace. We believe that cinema can help us say things we were not able to for decades, and help us get to know one another. Not only do we believe, we also act on it!

What did we do?

We are organizing meetings twice a year, respectively in April and June, as parallel events of the Istanbul International Film Festival and the International Golden Apricot Film Festival of Yerevan since 2008. Our gatherings open up ways to bring together filmmakers, to enable a platform of dialogue where through the lens of the camera, we look at our common histories. We are constantly looking for ways to enable and enhance future collaborations between the peoples of the two societies. We have organized 14 workshops in Istanbul and Yerevan where more than 200 filmmakers, directors, producers, film critics and scholars, actors and actresses and journalists came together. Along with the annual Project Development Workshops, we have held film screenings, premiers of Platform supported films, discussions, interviews and numerious other activities that enabled us to energize the cultural life in both countries. You may find every single story of the previous workshops we have organized below.
